Received the
Wakui sings Dylan CD yesterday.
Wakui is backed by his band Celluloid Heroes.
All the songs are in Japanese, save a spoken intro to
Cold Irons Bound and a few English words here and there.
It's difficult for me to rate translated albums since I don't know the language, so I listen to them as I would an instrumental album. From that viewpoint,
Wakui sings Dylan is an interesting listen. Big-band rock sound, with a horn section prevelant on several tracks. I give it extra points for not focusing on the '60s.
IMHO,
Under The Red Sky benefits from being in another language
Wakui sings Dylan is now listed at
Dylan Cover Albums, with cover art & tracklist.
