There is no song I`ll ever love more than To Ramona ( alongside Desolation Row )

Would be pleased to hear about the Singer/Band who pharapase your beloved To Ramona Version.

For me can say it`s the Version of Alan Price. ( Once member of the Animals.)
His kind of singing this song is tenderly and very moving. Only accompanied on an anciently sounding piano and some gentle strings. The whole interpretation is self-effacing in a wonderful way. It gives me the cheeps every time I listen to.

By the way, I`m looking for Alan Price` To Ramona on 7”
It`s very hard to find and I`m really happy I already got it . Even twice. Wink (US promo / Parrot and the Portugal release on Decca.)
BUT now looking for one of this in mint and there seems to be no reasonable chance...
So do have the modest request:
If anyone will see it anywhere, or got it and would be willing to change, deal or so, please contact me. He who would made my day.

I've always liked The Texas Tornados' Tex-Mex version, with it's one verse in Spanish.

I don't have the Alan Price on 45, or LP, only on the The Bob Dylan/Songbook CD.

One version of To Ramona that I really like is by Days Away on the Listen To Bob Dylan album (2005).

I'll have to give it another listen. Not much on that collection made me want to hear it again Sad

You and I obviously have different tastes in Music. I think Listen To Dylan is one of the best, most original (in the re-workings) all Dylan covers album that I have heard.
Another personal favorite is the Uncut cover mount CD Highway 61 Revisited Revisited, which contains my all-time favorite Dylan cover, From A Buick 6 by Richmond Fontaine.

The LP Version (don’t know, but think the songbook version is taken from the LP ) is also nice, but sadly the gentle string touch is missing.

The Days Away Version don`t know. Such as the whole album and hardly any performer.

The Texas Tornados Version sounds groovy. I like those Tex Mex stuff at all.
Could be funny to arrange a cover compilation with only Tex-Mex Versions and so. But probably not achievable. On the fly don`t know any.

There are actually two different releases of Alan Price's taske on To Ramona. His performance is the same on both. One is solo at the piano. The other adds strings, actually a really touching arrangement. His performance is aces. Class guy. He's also a HUGE Randy Newman fan who had a #1 in UK with Simon Smith and the Amazing Dancing Bear and recorded a couple Newman songs that appear noplace else.

Ah! Now understand why I always liked Lucille! Even the german Version by Michael Holm.

But there is effecively a To Ramona Version with changed lyrics! More precisely even know two. One is by Waylon Jennings
And, that`s just about the limit: Among others, the lyrics are changed in Anita! That beats everything. Even Lucille. Cool

The other is a dutch version by Kris de Bruyne called "Voor Anita".
Don`t know which other parts are changed. But who cares?! It`s my "To Ramona" Wink
